The high school and middle school track seasons have been cancelled due to COVID-19 - but we're runners. And runners dream big and chase PRs. No matter what.
With that idea in mind, CRC has partnered with the Myers Running Camp to host the Myers Mile, a virtual track camp focused on distance runners.
After all the summer miles, the endless workouts with the team, and the constant dreaming, it all comes down to this. It's state meet week, and Ohio's top cross country runners are heading for a showdown this Saturday.
Junior Matt Duvall has led the state ranked Pickerington North XC team all season long. Last year, he finished 23rd at the state cross country meet and 7th in the 3200m at the state track meet. This year, as the XC post-season continues to heat up, he has even bigger goals. We caught up with the Pickerington superstar on the eve of the regional meet to see how his season has gone, what he's shooting for next, and what it's like to run for the always-competitive Pickerington North squad.
As the middle school cross country season hits a peak, Caitlyn Jones is on a tear. The St Michael's runner has won everything from weekday tri meets to big invites like the Pickerington North Classic. She earned her two mile PR of 12:10 while winning the Celtic Clash at Dublin Jerome, and she's now focused firmly on the middle school state meet to close out her breakthrough season. We caught up with the young runner to talk training, racing, and more.
