New Shoe Review: Ravenna 8 from Brooks

Brooks Footwear Launch

With a January release, Brooks kicks off the new year with an excellent update in the Ravenna 8. The Ravenna is a preferred shoe for runners who over-pronate and appreciate a soft, lightweight, and supportive ride.

The Details

The Ravenna’s midsole continues to feature BioMoGo DNA cushioning. You might wonder what, exactly, BioMoGo DNA is and how it helps your run. Essentially, it’s the special foam Brooks utilizes to keep that cushion going strong through your training without weighing you down. The latest version of the Ravenna adds a bit of rubber to the bottom of the shoe to ensure that your push off the ground feels extra springy when combined with Brooks’ custom cushioning.

The Ravenna also features a diagonal-shaped bar under your arch, which makes the impact from your heel to rolling through your stride feel as silky and seamless as possible. The overall construction of the support in the shoe coupled with the comfortable mesh upper means you'll enjoy lacing them up for every run.

The Ravenna 8 is available at all four CRC shops in Very Berry and Peacoat/Purple for women and Silver/Anthracite/Red and Black/Classic Green for men. So if you're looking for a light-to-moderate stability shoe for running long miles or walking around comfortably all day, stop by CRC and see if the Ravenna 8 is a good fit for you.
