New Shoe Review: Omni 16 from Saucony

Footwear Launch Saucony

At the CRC, we don't just do shoes. We like to multitask! Whether that means putting on races, hosting group runs, or doing community outreach, we enjoy being a jack-of-all-trades. One shoe that fits this bill is the Saucony Omni 16. If you're looking for a great supportive shoe for running, casually walking around, or standing on your feet all day, this shoe should be on your list.

Tech

The Saucony Omni enters its 16th edition with some fresh updates. A new engineered mesh in the upper means that the fit is a bit more lightweight and dynamic. Say goodbye to pinching or a weird-fitting toe box with this improvement. The heel contains a Support Frame to cradle your foot upon initial landing. The outsole uses what Saucony calls TRI-FLEX, which is a more flexible configuration of rubber. Underneath the insert in the shoe Saucony lays a 2-millimeter thick piece of EVERUN plastic which offers continuous cushioning throughout the lifespan of the shoe. The heel-to-toe drop in the Omni is 8 millimeters.

CRC Pickerington Manager MAD Mike On Why He Loves the Saucony Omni

"Working in the CRC Pickerington store for eight hours at a time and being on my feet for most of that time, I am always looking for a comfortable shoe. I found one in the Saucony Omni 15 and also now in the Omni 16. It is very supportive, well cushioned and lightweight. It hugs and provides cushioning for my heel, which was normally my biggest issue. The mesh upper provides a flexible covering that allows me to still move my toes around. This all helps my feet not feel fatigued at the end of the work day."

Similar Shoes

The Omni is really at the top of its category when it comes to multitasking shoes, but similar models that offer cushioning and support would be the Brooks Adrenaline GTS, HOKA ONE ONE Gaviota, and New Balance 860.
So if you're looking for a solid running or walking option, a good high-impact shoe, or just want something comfortable to wear around, then look no further. CRC has your hookup in the Saucony Omni 16!
