The Brooks Launch 4 is a great option for the neutral runner looking for a lightweight and springy shoe that can do anything from working out at the gym to handling your marathon long run. The 4th iteration of the Launch improves some key areas while retaining several features that have made it a must-have shoe for a wide range of runners.
The Launch 4 makes quite a few improvements from the previous version. The forefoot features more blown rubber to add a nice springy feeling coupled with increased durability. Similar to other recent models from Brooks, 3D Fit Print paired with Air Mesh Fabric makes up the upper to give you a secure and breathable run.
The other key update is the addition of a “U-Groove” shape to the heel. This allows for a bit of support without throwing off the gait of the neutral runner.
The Launch 4 is a sleek shoe and feels like it was made to literally launch you to that next step. The upper fits as snug as you like without the addition of heavy overlays.
Like all other Brooks shoes, you’ll find DNA cushion in this one as well. The soft and responsive material cushions your step but provides plenty of spring when it’s time to rocket forward. I can’t repeat this enough: the addition of more blown rubber makes this latest update all the better.
If you’ve worn the Brooks Ghost 9 and want to get a lighter shoe or just want to try something new, blast-off and on your way to your local CRC to see what the Brooks Launch 4 is all about!
