Why CRC? Because running (or walking, or whatever floats your boat exercise-wise) is good–and, no matter how small the day-to-day impact of one exerciser might be, spreading that around makes the world a better place. Slowly but surely.
I also have four cats to feed, so I gotsta get paid!
Where’s your favorite place to run in Ohio: My favorite place to run is Friendship Park in Gahanna. It’s a very small park–only about a quarter mile trail–but is densely populated with Pokestops, so that’s important.
But for actual running there is a route in Granville that we named “Gunrack” in college. It has the most miserable climb in the middle of it–but for the most part the scenery is very nice and it feels like a real getaway even though it’s a very manageable distance from Columbus.
Favorite running shoe & why: I am not too picky about my shoes. I can pretty much run in anything. If you’re making me pick just one, right now I am really loving the Tracer from Hoka One One. Super-light, nice and bouncy.
Fun fact: At one time, I held the world record for most traffic cones loaded into the truck at one time during clean-up for the Columbus 10k. Fourteen cones. I guess that’s less of a “fun fact” and more a “fact that will amaze and astound.” I was only asked for one, but I assure you there’s more where that came from!
Favorite post-run treat: The tears of the competition left in my dust. Tears are rich in electrolytes.
