CRC welcomes Altra back to the shop shelves with the Torin 3.0. Haven't heard of Altra? Then sit back and read on!
Altra is a brand out of Logan, Utah that specializes in zero drop footwear that features a widened toe box. These factors contribute to what some people consider to be a more natural running form while still providing plenty of cushion.
* Embrace the Space: Altra shoes all have a widened "FootShape" toe box that takes the squeeze off of your toes and lets them return to a natural position. The extra space is said to "reduce over-pronation, enhance stability, and create a powerful toe-off to maximize performance."
* Zero Drop: You might remember this set of words from the barefoot running trend a few years ago. Most running shoes use elevated heels to provide cushion. In Altra shoes, the height of your heel is even with your toe, which is the same as you would be while running or walking barefoot. The zero drop aspect of the shoe lets your foot move like it isn't in a shoe, without the extra pounding of not actually running barefoot.
* Fit 4 Her: Women tend to have a narrower heel and midfoot, higher instep, longer arch, and different metatarsal spacing. Altra recognizes this and changes the shape of their women's models to account for it.
CRC is now carrying the Torin 3.0. We liked that this shoe fits their mid-cushion, mid-weight, and mid-price point areas. If you've been interested in a wider forefoot or zero drop shoe, then the Torin 3.0 could be a good fit for your search. Check it out in either Gray/Pink or Blue/Coral(women's) and Black/Red or Gray/Blue (men's).
