Fall 2005

Rowe finishes 20th in Mobile, AL at USATF 10k Championships, then meets Pooh.
The shirt says Pooh, at least, but unsure Aaron had a nibble of Pooh's ear and made the confirmation. "Sweet Pooh," said Rowe of the incident.
Rowe finished the race in an impressive 30:26 to earn 20th place, just behind fellow Ohioan Matt Folk. '04 Olympian Dathan Ritzenhein won the race.
Jurcevich clocks 2:17:44 at the Detroit Marathon to finish second, enters the top 10 list of quickest American marathons of 2005.
Jim saved his best race of the year for the big one up in Detroit and became one of the quickest marathoners in the U.S. this year. More importantly, he now sits atop the CRC store team record board. Best of all, his nipples didn't bleed on the coveted CRC jersey.

Ordway first Ohioan at Columbus in 2:24, Hamner and Ritz not far behind in their debuts!
Josh Ordway was the first Ohio finisher overall and led the way for three young CRC lads debuting in the marathon. Hamner won the award for most even splits, crossing the half in 1:14 and the final mat in 2:28. Ritz was on a tear for much of the race as he eyed a 2:30, but the big one took its toll towards the end as he finished in a still impressive 2:42. It wasn't long before all three began to talk of the next marathon effort.
Matt and Eric race Haile Gebrselassie in the Amsterdam Marathon, Haile wins.
However, Haile had a 20 meter head start. Eric and Matt both ran the first 10k together before Matt started to work up the field. Eric, coming off a 2:58 marathon two weeks earlier, made efforts to enjoy the full remaining 20 miles of windmills, shetland ponies, the Amstel River and cheese, and then again finishing in 2:58. Much like CRC store team hero Nate Ritz, Matt was shooting for a sub 2:30 marathon. Trying to erase Haile's 20 meter head start early proved costly, and Matt faded to a 2:34:56.

How about Akron? The CRC sent up a team consisting of Ordway, Jurcevich, and Rowe along with a couple fill-in friends from Michigan. The result? A first place win, a nice cash bonus, and a live interview on an Akron television newscast. Watch Josh hog the camera here!
