Men finish 28th at U.S. Club Cross Country Championships
It may not have been the most impressive finish in CRC history, but it was a finish. Spokane was the coldest and windiest place on earth that morning, and running 10k did little to warm us up. Luckily the hotel had a hot tub. David Mealy led the way for the CRC in 33:24. Rounding out our top five were Dustin Whitehair, Matt Behrensmeyer, Matt DeLeon, and Jim Jurcevich. The ladies did not field a full team, but were supported by Liz Trapp who finished the 6k in 25:02. Behind her were Rachael DeLeon and Stephanie Whitis. However, the most impressive performance of the day by a CRC jersey was in the Masters Men's side, where Matthew Whitis rocked a CRC jersey to finish 11th overall.

Next up: CRC travels to Washington State December 15th for the USATF Club Cross Country Championships!
It's time for some shorter racing! Last year in Cincy team CRC finished 9th in the men's race and the women finished 27th. The main goal is to improve placing and crush the Big River Running Co! We will keep you updated....

Fall marathon season! See how your CRC athletes fared, including Josh Ordway's Columbus victory and Brandon Bauer's blistering half marathon debut!
As the fall marathon season comes to a close, it's time to take a look at how team CRC fared on the long roads! Perhaps the most notable results came in Columbus, with Josh Ordway shining over a competitive field with a 2:23 victory, just days after winning the Dayton Half Marathon. Meanwhile in the half marathon Brandon Bauer debut to a blazing 1:06:12, good enough to place him as the first American and third overall. Ordway wasn't the only victor, CRC blue team newcomer Mike Hansen clocked a 1:15:09 half in Akron for this win. There were plenty of PR's to go around, with blue teamers Charlie Wlodyka (2:46:56) and Rob Ickes (2:52:17) tearing it up in Columbus. Here is a list of recent half and full marathon results from team CRC:

Eric putnamThe almighty team CRC Men battles hard but stumble for the first time ever to the Earth Drummers in Cincy, CRC women run well to earn second
The challenge was on, to team CRC rolled down to the Hyde Park Blast to take on a list of other teams from around the country. The women's team of three finished well - Krista, Liz, and Becki - placing 2nd overall behind team RunOhio. The men's team gave it their all but was outpaced for the first time in team history to the Earth Drummers. Crossing the line first for the CRC was Eric 'crazy shorts' Putnam, followed by a mending Josh Ordway, followed by an ever stronger force on the team, Mike Sawicki. DeLeon and Whitehair rounded out the rest of the team. We all await anxiously for the next meeting between our new southerly foes.

Team CRC goes big at Columbus 10k, edges team Earth Drummers from Cincinnati
On a hot and humid day team CRC held strong despite some injuries and tired legs from spring racing. With fellow Ohio team Earth Drummers making the trip for some friendly competition, CRC did not want to disappoint. Scoring five men, the Earth Drummers took the top two spots, however CRC took the next five. DeLeon led the way for CRC with an overall 9th place finish. He was followed by Ordway, Jurcevich, Whitehair, Ritz, and Hamner. On the ladies side, Becki, Liz, Sharon, and Christine finished fourth, fifth, sixth, and eighth overall respectively. The next team event is Hyde Park, for a rematch with the Earth Drummers in their backyard!

Josh Ordway goes big again, this time at the USA Half Marathon Championships
Due to his victory at the 2007 Dayton Half Marathon, Josh was given a stipend by USATF Ohio to make the trip to Houston for the USA Half Marathon champs. Josh never turns down a race. After running the USA trails and USATF XC Champs just a few weeks earlier, Josh turned in a tough 24th place finish in 1:06:51. In Ohio news, fellow Ohioan Chris Reis had a breakout race, finishing in 1:04:39. Look for some good races between the two in the future. Well done, Josh!
