The Columbus Running Company Store Team was founded with the opening of the store in July 2004. Matt and Eric, originators of the shop, always envisioned a business that operated with the sole intention of benefiting the surrounding community and running scene. The CRC Store Team is a branch of that vision, designed to help those individuals who dedicate large amounts of time to developing their running talent.
The CRC Store Team hopes to:
1. Facilitate a group training atmosphere to enhance each individual's training.
2. Provide sponsorship assistance to athletes who meet the qualifications specified by the Columbus Running Company.
3. Demonstrate goodwill and strong character within the local running scene and greater community. Our Blue team members are required to volunteer at at least three Columbus Running Co. Charity Fund events per year. The CRC Charity Fund is a non-profit organization designed to benefit local charity road races and advance the running community. 4. Create greater exposure of distance running in Central Ohio and region.
The Columbus Running Company is a member club of both the USATF and RRCA, and is supported by Mizuno. We attend individual and team events on local and national levels. Outside of training and racing, members of team Columbus Running Co. volunteer time at charity running events. We have recently begun putting on events of our own, the first being a cross country race for the Dublin high schools. In December of 2007 our club was chosen as the host club for the USATF Club National Championships, and honor we take great pride in.
