The Columbus Running Company likes to keep up with
those who have crossed our path and rode the CRC train to some glory.
How that affected their life? Only time will tell....

Whether they moved away or got lazy,
these fine individuals will always be in our hearts.

Neal Holtschulte
Neal is easy to track down. He still keeps
active running, and is kind enough to keep us in the loop with
recaps from his endeavors. You, too, can be in the loop here:
http://www.smartamusement.com/musings/index.php. We
at the CRC are sad to see Neal leave us for New York, but we are
very proud of his acclimation into the real world. He's got
himself a condo, a good job, and probably all new friends to run
with. For a guy who never could seem to show up for a race on
time this is a big step in the right direction. I'm sure he'll
be visiting us when he is back on holiday.

Jenn Ernst
Luckily, Jenn is still around. She still runs and hops in
a race here and there. It's just that now she runs from her new
house from a top a hill in Westerville. When she smiles her teeth
sparkle because she married a dentist. At least that's what he
claims to be. We don't care what he is, as long as he is
entertaining, and he lives up to that standard. He jams with
Rowe on the guitar. He lets Fruth play duck-hunt. He has tile in
his basement which is good for parties. He tells us funny
things. Alright, hold on now. Isn't this supposed to be about
Jenn? Jenn is a master art teacher, is not afraid of blood,
makes good snacks, and married Rick. |

Ruth Biwott
Ruth was a short-term addition to the squad. She had
raced for her native country Kenya in many parts of the world
before landing in Columbus for a stint at Afton Rd. We'd watch
track on T.V. and she'd point out her cousins. She ate more
bread than a baker. Times were good with Ruth. Now she has moved
on back to Kenya, to the man she left in tears when she ventured
to the states. We believe she has since gotten married, and we
wish her the best.

Luke Peters
Luke is wandering soul in search of nothing. All wise men
know however that there is something in that nothing. Trust us,
Luke is special enough to find it. Luke up and left Columbus for
stint laying trail up the West Coast for lots of runners just
like himself. We expected he'd come back, and he did. He even
took a job at the CRC while finishing getting his teachers
certificate. What he'll do next, however,
is like predicting what the weather will be like the third
Sunday in February, 2046. |

Matt Suttle
Matt was the original store team member, back when being
on the store team wasn't cool. Matt proved to be the
Truman Show of CRC, it's like we watched him grow up right
before our little eyes. First he started coaching the Scioto
Girls XC team. Then some neighborhood gals taught him about the
birds and the bees at the Aloha Party. Soon after he married a
hurdler, bought a 1.5 lb. Daschund wiener dog, a 5 foot wide
television screen, and then another 1.5 lb. Daschund wiener dog. He
still gets in some good miles and has talked of a return to the
marathon, of which when it happens he'll complete the cycle and
be re-incarnated back into the current roster like a fly into a
giraffe. His favorite movie is Kung Fu Hustle. |

Mike Korir
Mike was our wine drinking and cake eating hero from
Kenya. He first took the CRC jersey to high heights with a great
win in the '04 Philly Marathon. While in Columbus he proved open
to experiencing many new facets of the God given world, except for
the water slide at the local swimming pool. His speed matched
his endurance, as he was the first ever champion in the CRC Mile
Dash Anniversary Bash. We wish him well and hope he gets back to
Columbus for some more training in the future! |

Justin Mock
This strapping young hunk found time to run some big
miles while working for the man over at Ernst and Young. His
first race ever was in fact the Chicago Marathon, followed by a
50k at Mohican. Justin was on top of all things running, which
made for some good small talk about upcoming events in the
United States running scene. A diehard, in November '05 he
purchased two Subway restaurants in Boulder, combining his love
of running and his passion for the sandwich. Free B.M.T.'s to
all those in Boulder who mention this site. Godspeed, Justin! |

Troy Reine
Boy toy Troy had it all. He could go from 10 miles a week
to 100 like a bear in spacesuit. He could eat 20 popsicles in
one sitting followed by a large bowl of buttered popcorn and
call it dinner. He owned nearly 6 complete leisure suits and let
his friends wear them. Troy was among the original four on the
store team who went to the fabled "Aloha" party. Nothing has
been the same since. That's when things began to change, and not
long after Troy began speaking of heading to Minnesota. That is
where you'll find him now. Oh, and for a while he was the
treasured store manager of the Columbus Running Company. |
The Columbus Running Company is a member club of both the USATF and
RRCA, and is supported by Mizuno. We attend individual and team events
on local and national levels. Outside of training and racing, members of
team Columbus Running Co. volunteer time at charity running events. We
have recently begun putting on events of our own, the first being a
cross country race for the Dublin high schools. In December of 2007 our
club was the host club for the USATF Club National
Championships, and honor we take great pride in.
