AUGUST RUNNING TAT OF THE MONTH Scott Muench, Strike one up for the masters runners, ringing up their first tat of the month honor in over a year since the young bucks started stealing the show. Scott found his tat design years ago but only recently decided to "have it inked on my right calf." The design is simple in nature, and appealing enough to now be featured in a local 5k held at the end of September - the OMU power run. Since Scott had the design published on his calf, at least three others have already been permanently inked with it. "If anyone else wants the artwork just let me know, and I'll gladly send it to you," says Scott. We're not going to make his email public on here, but if you want it, let the CRC know and we'll get it to you. Now looking at the picture above, it wasn't just the tat that caught our attention. We've seen a lot of calves in this business, and a sizeable calf is something to be appreciated. Scott's calf appears to be the size of the prize hog in the Daviess county International Bar-B-Q festival, an Owensboro tradition. We at the CRC agree is was the perfect place for such a popular design. Speaking of hogs and muscles, did you know that it was butchers who coined the name hamstring? Butchers hung the pig (a.k.a. ham) by the strong 'string' of muscle in the back of it's leg. True story. The CRC thanks Scott for the tat submission and the ability to segue into something educational. Congrats to Scott on earning a $15 gift certificate to the CRC and to Evolved. Do you want to be the running tat of the month? Send us a picture at info@columbusrunning.com or stop by the store. Please let us know why, how, and when you got the tattoo...
