Tuesday, March 6th at 7pm
Columbus Running Co, Dublin Location
Cost: Free
After the success of last year’s Women’s
Running Night at the CRC, we’re thrilled to announce the date of
our second annual edition of the popular event. Wine and snacks
will be on hand, and we’ve lined up a nutritionist and a
physical trainer to lead short, informative clinics on nutrition
for the active female and cross training for a lifetime of
fitness - on the go.
The first forty registrants receive a free Mizuno running
hat, a $20 value, and all participants at the clinic can enter
for a chance to win a free Mizuno running outfit. To find full
details on this event & to reserve your spot along with the free
Mizuno gift, call either store or RSVP online at:
www.columbusrunning.com/women.htm
This is a
ladies only event, but feel free to bring your husbands, sons,
brothers, cousins, or neighbors - the guys from the CRC are
kicking themselves out of their own store and putting their
better halves in charge, so the guys could use some company as
they sit out the Women’s Running Night by hanging out at Buffalo
Wild Wings. Tuesday night happens to be 25 cent wing night.
We’ll see the guys there!

Lace up those shoes and
come join us for a run! As always, the CRC is offering
free group runs, a chance for you to come meet fellow
runners and to put some miles in together. Runners of
all abilities are welcome! Run as far or as fast as you
like, we’ll have the store open for you afterwards with
water, coffee, and the occasional snack.
Saturdays at 8am
- This is our main group run, and the Sat run goes on
year-round, regardless of weather. Saturdays are all
about putting some extra miles in to kick the weekend
off.
Mondays at 8pm -
This is a smaller run, for those quicker runners looking
to get some quality miles in with other competitive
runners. The coming winter nights make this one tough,
but it’s all part of the Trials of Miles, right?
Speedwork - Our
Wednesday afternoon track workouts will be resuming soon.
We'll make an announcement for all you with cabin fever. |

At the CRC, we utilize our
treadmills to assist our customers in selecting the
proper footwear for their feet. Thanks to the Exercise
Equipment Experts, we have new treadmills in both of our
locations. Come test them out the next time you try on
shoes, and visit the Exercise Equipment Experts the next
time you’re in the market for a treadmill yourself.
Their courteous staff will be provide you with the same
customer service that you’ve come to expect from the CRC.

Race Day Registration: 11:30am
Super Games and Family Expo: 11:30
Kid's Run and games: 12:30pm
5k event spectacular: 1:00pm |
Join us on April 22nd for
the 3rd Annual “Here’s Looking at You, Kid” 5k
By CRC tradition, the spring
season begins with the start of the “Here’s Looking at
You, Kid” 5k. Each spring since the opening of CRC-Dublin,
the HLAYK weekend has been marked by beautiful weather,
large crowds, and a festive atmosphere. Kids’ runs and
games make the day a family favorite, and the 5k draws
competitive runners and casual walkers alike. After a
cold, snowy winter, it doesn’t get much better than
this!
For more info on the HLAYK5k, go
online to:
www.columbusrunning.com/hereslookingatyoukid.htm
Check out the CRC website for
further info on other CRC charity events - and use the
online calendar to check dates on races from all your
favorite area race timing groups! |
Here’s
Looking at the Details...
The Course
Starting from Dublin Coffman High School, runners and
walkers will stream down Coffman Road to Emerald Parkway. The
next mile is a long gradual downhill before the turn at Dublin
Road. Every course has its defining feature, and the Emerald
Hill makes the HLAYK5k a memorable one. Conquer the hill, and
then it’s clear sailing into Coffman Stadium for the finish on
the track.
The Entertainment
Marching bands, rock bands, the CD101 ice cream truck,
and a whole lot more make this one of the most carnivalesque
road races in central Ohio. For the kids, there are the Super
Games, those inflatable games that the rest of us all wish we
were young enough to still play on. Games begin as early as
11:30am.
The Expo
Before and after the races, be sure to check out the
community-oriented Family Expo at Coffman Stadium. The expo
will feature local organization and health-related groups.
The Kids’ Runs
Children of all ages are invited to take part in the
kids’ runs, beginning at 12:30 on the Coffman track. Depending
on age, children will run anywhere from 50 meters to 800 meters,
and every participant receives a prize at the finish line. The
kids’ runs are FREE, and participants earn a free pass to use
the Super Games for the day. Those not taking part in the races
are still welcome to join in on the fun of the Games, but a $2
donation is required. So come run, walk, or skip about the
track with us!
Students
Making a Difference
What sets the “Here’s Looking at You, Kid” 5k
apart is a group of dedicated student-race directors who focus
on the event year-round. Each year, a select group of senior
Dublin Teen Institute members are selected to serve as race
directors under the supervision of Coffman’s Dr. GeorgiAnn
Diniaco. The students seek out the sponsorships that make the
event possible, figure out the logistics that make the day run
smoothly, and provide the youth and excitement that make the day
a uniquely memorable event for everyone. They even take their
mission into the local elementary schools, coaching local
students to make healthy decisions and take part in the kids’
runs. Last year’s student-race directors saw nearly 800 people
register for their race and 673 people finish. This year’s
group has set their sights high - can YOU run it and help them
reach 1000?
* See you

Are Your
Children Creative?
Email the CRC at info@columbusrunning.com
for information on the “Here’s Looking at You, Kid” poster and
essay contests. Big prizes are on the line and will be
presented on race day before the crowds of runners, walkers, and
spectators. So sharpen those crayons and push aside that
writer’s block, it’s time to get creative!
