Celebrate the
Columbus Running Company’s One Year Anniversary with Us! |
Mark your calendars for
Saturday, July 9th. That’s the day that the CRC is celebrating
our first anniversary!
To start off the big day, we’re heading out for our
usual Saturday morning 8am group run from the store before
opening the store at 10am. When we open the doors on Saturday,
it will be to a huge sale - everything in the store will be
marked down, and we invite you all to come check out the latest
shoes and new summer styles. |
As part of our anniversary
celebration, we’re putting on the Mile Dash Anniversary Bash, a
one mile road race that finishes behind the store. The run/walk
begins at 5pm on Liggett Road, one mile from the CRC. Either
stop by the store for directions before taking a one mile warmup
run out to the start, or else stop by and hop on our shuttle to
the starting line. Arrive early to allow for plenty of time to
get ready!
There will be music at the starting line, two bands at the finish,
free post-run beer from Buffalo Wild Wings for all of those
of-age finishers, free massage from The Retreat, and a whole lot
more. At the post-run awards, we’ll be randomly giving away
airfare and race entry for two to take part in any of the John
Bingham races – the winner’s choice of the Arizona Distance
Classic, the Chicago Distance Classic, or Columbus’ own Capital
City Half Marathon. Full info on the mile is available at
www.columbusrunning.com/mile.htm.
For those of you connected to a local high school cross country
team, our one mile road race is also serving as a fundraiser for
two cross country programs. Athletes, coaches, and family
members are invited to team up to run in the Abercrombie and
Fitch Mascot Challenge as a part of the mile. To take part, one
representative from each team must race the mile while dressed
as their school mascot. For every teammate who finishes the
mile, the mascot’s time is reduced by 15 seconds, and the two
fastest mascots win their teams $750 and $250 respectively.
We hope to see you all on July
9th and we’d like to say thanks to everyone for helping us to
make this first year a great one!!!

$$$Earn
Points and Discounts with the CRC Running Rewards Referral Program$$$
A huge part
of our growth over our first year has come because of referrals from
many of you, and we want to say thank you. We work hard to provide
local runners and walkers with the best possible advice, expertise, and
experience as they select the shoes, apparel, and accessories for their
day-to-day use, and we’re glad that many of you have referred others to
the CRC. To give something back to our loyal customers, we’re
introducing the CRC’s Running Rewards Referral program (the RRR
program).
Here’s how it all works….
Send us an email or sign yourself up next time you’re in the store. We
will record your name and contact info into our database. Don’t worry,
we don’t share this info with anyone else. Every time that a new
customer comes in who is not in our referral program database and
mentions YOUR name while making a purchase, you will earn a point.
Every point that you earn equals $5.00 off on your next purchase of
shoes or apparel. It’s that simple! We will even provide you with
referral cards with your name on it to hand out if you like! Earn a
maximum of $30 off per purchase.
Just one more way that
the CRC strives to give back to the local running and walking community.

Mile Dash
Anniversary Bash
Saturday, July 9, 2005
5:00 pm
Join us as we
celebrate the CRC’s one year anniversary! |
This is the birthday party of the summer. We’ll
kick things off with a one mile road race followed by
free massage (compliments of our
neighbors at The Retreat) and one free
beer for all of those of age (compliments of Buffalo Wild
Wings). Entertainment from two bands
will provide the backdrop for the race’s after-party as we raffle off
prizes including a free trip for two and
entry into any John Bingham race in the US. That’s right - our
friends at John Bingham Racing are offering airfare and entry for two
random winners to go to the Arizona Distance Classic, the Chicago
Distance Classic, or the Columbus Distance Classic!
Pre-registration for the mile is open until 7/3/05
and costs only $10. Late registration and race-day registration are
$12, and kids ten and under race for free. The Mile Dash begins one
mile away from the CRC on Liggett Road near the intersection of Liggett
and Post Road, and the course leads you directly back to the CRC’s
shopping center. We encourage everyone to show up early to either take
a warm-up run or walk out to the starting line from the store. There
will also be a shuttle available from the store to the start for those
arriving early.
More info is available

What can we do to better
serve the running and walking community?
This is the question that
we ask ourselves every day. We’re always looking for ways to improve,
and your feedback is invaluable to us. Those of you in Dublin may have
noticed that we now put water coolers and cups out on the trails every
Saturday - this came after a suggestion from a thirsty runner struggling
home from a run. Little things mean a lot, and we hope that you all
enjoy this service.
Let us know what else we
can do to strengthen and improve the local running and walking
community! We take your suggestions seriously, and we aim to be the
most dedicated running and walking store.
