Kid's Runs are free and starts at 12:30pm, preceding the 5k event at 1:00pm. All kids are welcome and encouraged to run the 5k with the regular race fee- if they can handle it! All participants in the kid's run receive an award at the finish line and free entry into the Super Games area. The free runs distances vary upon age:

Kindergarten and Under: 50 meters
1st and 2nd grades: 200 meters
3rd and 4th grades: 400 meters
5th and 6th grades: 800 meters

At the finish of the kids run, students from Jerome's Teen Institute will take the kids over to the Super Games area for fenced in games, including inflatable castles and more. This should give some breathing room for parents as they prepare for the 5k! Kids participating in either the kids run or 5k receive free entry into the Super Games. Otherwise entry for kids into the games area is $2.00 per child.
The Super Games will be located on the football field of the stadium.

In the months leading up to the 5k, students from the Teen Institute will be visiting Dublin elementary schools to lead practice sessions designed to get the kids ready for the runs. The mini-sessions, designed with guidance from Columbus Running Company staff, were created to keep the kids active and get them excited about the HLAYK event!
