December 2008 Tat of the Month

Heiko Suthoff - European connection, Germany

The Columbus Running Company Tat of the Month contest has gone world wide! The first submission from across the Atlantic has arrived via Germany and Heiko's right leg. Here is the submission.

"I'm the age of 21 and I'm running now for 3 years. In 2008, I finished my first two marathons (Rome and Berlin). Running has become such an important part of my life - I get all my inspiration from it and it has shown me how far I can go if I just want it. It was time to get something on my body which reminds me of running every day. So I asked a former school friend (very good artist) to think about a appropriate tattoo for my legs. I wanted a discreet motive and she suggested a pictogram - I loved it from the start and now it decorates my right ankle."

Very nice Heiko. We are tentatively planning a trip to Germany for the World Track and Field Finals. I'm pretty sure they are in Berlin. Perhaps we'll meet up over a stein full of the best golden beer the country has to offer and admire your award winning tattoo?! See you then.
