What do the 2006 Boston Marathon, Delaware Marathon, God's Country Marathon, Turkey Swamp 50k, Tahoe Triple Marathon, New York City Marathon, and Philadelphia Marathon have in common? Dana McBride and that sweet Tat that graces the top this webpage- the January 2007 Tat of the Month Champion site!

When it comes to running, Dana is experienced. She completed twice as many marathons in 2006 than all three CRC owners combined. Three of those marathons were on back to back days, at the Tahoe Triple Marathon. Despite all her other running endeavors, it was Tahoe that pushed her to the edge of ink glory. "Three marathons in three days. This is what prompted my running partner and I to go get the tattoos." Whatever it takes, we say. At some point you have to cross the Rubicon. "We knew we had accomplished something fantastic - above and beyond everything else we've accomplished as runners in our short running careers," said Dana.

When reading about Dana's tat submission and Tahoe, we got the feeling there was something good about this woman beyond the tattoo. Then she said it. "I think, by far, the Tahoe Triple was the best experience and the hardest." That's right- when you think something is better just because it's harder- you have fun CRC style.

The tat itself is unique, colorful, and exemplifies motion. "I do have a bit of a 'thing' with purple," she admits. The first picture is so fresh we think that is gauze in the bottom right corner of the picture. Get a tattoo, snap a picture, and send it to us. Dana has her priorities straight. Her next priority? "Helping my mom train for Steamtown in October," says Dana, "to see if we can get her qualified for Boston '08!" It seems once you find you can run three marathons in three days its time to move on to bigger things- seeing if you can get your mama to do it! We at the CRC pray that when it happens, her mother gets a Tattoo and we can post it here.
