Future clinic dates T.B.D.
The College Running Clinic is a free hour-long
clinic for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors considering
competing in track and field or cross country in college. A lot of
misinformation about collegiate competition makes its way through
the grapevine down to the high school athlete, and it’s often
difficult to discern the fact from the fiction. The recruiting
process can be confusing and programs can seem intimidating at
times. How does the high school student-athlete sift through
everything and make a choice about competing in college? Where does
one even begin? We’re here to help. The College Running Clinic is
here to provide you with the answers to your questions concerning
the future of your participation in this great sport of ours.
This is not a clinic that is going to claim
that it can tell you how to squeeze a program for the most
scholarship money or that is going to tell you which school you
should attend. It’s our goal to provide you with as much knowledge
as possible to aid you as you make your own decisions about your
future. No college coaches or current college athletes are a part
of the clinic. Instead, we’re here to offer an unbiased overview of
the collegiate system as a whole; a how-to guide for those
interested in continuing to take part in track and field after high
school. We’ll cover the differences between the various levels of
the NCAA and NAIA, program expectations, scholarship opportunities,
and the transition from high school to college. We’ll also talk
about balancing practice with classes, the pressures of college
life, and more. Collegiate competition isn’t for everyone, but we’d
love to see all interested student-athletes given a fair chance to
find their place in the ranks of university track and field.
Both students and parents are invited to
come. The clinic is free, however we do expect that each attendee
signs up in advance, either by calling the store in advance or using
the sign up sheet below. It is important to us to have enough
resources for everyone in the clinic. Thanks!
